]]> Ciklopea held a translation and localization workshop for the students and teachers at the translation studies department of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek on February 2nd, acting in its capacity as the Western Balkans regional coordinator of the ELIA Exchange Initiative. This is the first university to join the ELIA Exchange Initiative and we gladly introduced the students and their teachers to some of the working processes of localization. The workshop also featured a working exercise for the students to introduce them to translation and proofreading of texts with the computer-assisted translation software (CAT tools).

The goal of the ELIA Exchange Initiative is the strengthening of cooperation between the member universities and the member companies of ELIA (European Language Industry Association). One of the objectives is the promotion of the exchange of knowledge via the ELIA Exchange online database that includes students, universities and companies willing to secure internships for the students of translation studies.

More workshops at the member faculties are planned in 2015.
