I graduated with a degree in English and Comparative Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb in 2012. Having completed translation studies, I wanted to find the job as a professional translator. Shortly after I had earned my graduation and on the recommendation of the then Head of the English Department, I was invited to an interview at Ciklopea.

Within two months after my graduation, I started to work as a freelance translator at Ciklopea. I would work from the office when it was required and I mostly worked on simpler localization projects. Very soon, I became a translator trainee, which included greater responsibility, work on new projects and mastering various areas of translation.

Nowadays, almost three years after I started working at Ciklopea, I translate and proofread texts on the subjects of marketing, medicine, pharmacy, industry, technology, general business and legal matters. I am particularly happy for having these opportunities to gain a varied experience. I have become aware of the fact that every translation task has its challenges, but I have also learned how to overcome them.

The greatest advantage of working at Ciklopea is the cooperation among the colleagues and the professional and pleasant atmosphere.

At first, I used to work at the company’s head office in Zagreb. However, when I returned to my hometown, Rijeka, I started work at Ciklopea’s branch office where I was well accepted by the colleagues from day one. I still maintain the everyday communication with my colleagues in Zagreb and in Belgrade, both project managers and translators, and we are always available for help and support to each other, whenever it is needed.

The greatest advantage of working at Ciklopea is the cooperation among the colleagues and the atmosphere that is both professional and pleasant at the same time. In addition, we frequently have the opportunity to take part in various internal and external education programs and specialized workshops for the benefit of our further professional development. At the end, I would like to emphasize a particularly important aspect, especially in the light of the labour market of today, and that is that Ciklopea always gives the opportunity to the students who have just completed their studies and secures the training by their older and more experienced colleagues.
