I started work at Ciklopea in 2013, as a graduate student of English Language and Literature and Anthropology. I completed translation studies in English, so the work at Ciklopea was my first regular job. As it represented the first step in my career, I did not know what to expect. However, there was no reason for being afraid, as I encountered a great working atmosphere and a team of people always willing to help and teach me all I needed to know, from work in various CAT tools to various guidelines for translation of specific materials. I was particularly glad that the other, more experienced translators, were always there to answer all the questions, always willing to take part in discussions regarding each and every challenge.

I graduated in 2014 and continued my work at Ciklopea, so today, with almost 2 years of professional experience, I also have the opportunity to share my knowledge with the others, as a supervisor to the new translators. I started working on localization projects and that is my current specialization, as I am also the localization team lead. I also translate and proofread legal, medical, financial, technical and marketing materials from English to Croatian and vice versa.

Working in an environment that features numerous everyday projects is a perfect choice for every person eager for new knowledge and skills.

I have learned almost everything I know about the translation business at Ciklopea. I can’t even compare myself from back then, a slightly confused student, only entering the labour market and now, with all the acquired knowledge and confidence that my work requires. Every project represents a new challenge and an opportunity to learn something new. This is why working in a stimulating and flexible environment featuring numerous everyday projects represents a perfect choice for every person eager for new knowledge and skills.
