At Ciklopea, we’re very growth-oriented, meaning that we don’t fear introspection if it’ll help us become better and improve our services. Over the last month, we’ve been conducting long-form interviews with our clients in order to understand their challenges better. While doing so, we noticed that some themes recur, which prompted us to believe that others in the localization industry might be struggling with the same pain points.
Although our data sample is modest, it provides unique insights into the way companies perceive LSPs as external partners, their main challenges, and how they determine whether or not they are getting value for their money.

About our data sample
We conducted long-form interviews with nine different clients. Depending on the size of the company and the type of project we collaborated on, our point of contact was either a Marketing Manager, Localization Manager/Project Manager, Global Resource Manager, or a member of a Regulatory Team (in the case of pharma companies). The questionnaire consisted of 12 different open questions. In most cases, interviews were conducted face-to-face, which allowed us to understand the context better and ask follow-up questions.
The value of our research
Although we originally envisioned this research as something that we’d use only internally, we soon realized that there are some interesting findings that are worth sharing with the industry. We believe that publishing this data can encourage meaningful conversations and perhaps make us prioritize differently. Only when we exchange knowledge can we keep pushing forward together, as an industry.
